Men's Lacrosse Tops Cobleskill 15-8

Cazenovia, N.Y. - The seniors on the Cazenovia College men's lacrosse team, and their families, were honored in a pre-game ceremony Saturday afternoon and despite an early scare from Cobleskill the Wildcats cruised to a 15-8 victory.

Cazenovia improves to 4-6 on the season (2-3 NEAC) while the Fighting Tigers drop to 2-8 (0-6 NEAC).

After finding themselves down by a goal in the first Tyler Fudzinski (Hamilton, N.Y.), Cory Tilton (Central Square, N.Y.) and Taylor Hastrich (Horseheads, N.Y.) each ripped the back of the net giving the Wildcats a 3-1 lead after the first quarter.

Cazenovia continued its methodical attack in the second stanza with Tilton tallying another two goals to go along with a score from Joe Delia (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) to take a 6-3 lead into halftime.

Vincent Halsey (Oneida, N.Y.) scored early in the third quarter as Cazenovia outscored Cobleskill 5-2 heading into the final stanza with an 11-5 lead. The Wildcats extended the lead to as big as 15-7 before the Fighting Tigers scored another goal, leading to the final score of 15-8.

Tilton finished with 5 goals to lead the Wildcat attack. Kyle Kingsley (Potsdam, N.Y.) scored four goals to go along with two assists, while Delia dished out four helpers in addition to his two goals.

Pat Boyle (Syracuse, N.Y.) earned the victory in between the pipes for Cazenovia with 12 saves. Boyle was supported by defenders Mike Karderinis (Castle Creek, N.Y.) and Alex Marranca (Buffalo, N.Y.) who picked up seven and six ground balls respectively.

The Wildcats hit the field again on Wednesday when they travel to Morrisville for a 7:00 p.m. start under the lights.
