Cazenovia, NY - After falling in the previous two-games, the Wildcats Men's Lacrosse team bounced back to breeze by the Alfred State Pioneers 14-4.
Joe Delia came out strong from the start for the Wildcats with two of his four goals and two assists early in the first period. The rest of the Wildcats followed his lead on both offense and defense with a total of nine goals in the first half while holding Alfred State scoreless until late in the second period. Delia delivered again in the second period off of a nice assist by Keenan Mahoney. Additional goals by Eric Hanover, Casey Trejo, Ben Wilson (assisted by Brandon Anthony) and Brandon Maxson sent the Wildcats in to halftime with a 9-2 lead.
The Wildcats could not be stopped as they took over the second half by keeping the Pioneers offense in check as Alfred State was able to finish on just two of their twenty shots. Zach House has established a reputation for winning face-offs as he went 10-11 while the Wildcats combined to win 14 of 21 faceoffs. Pat Boyle had a great game in the cage, saving twelve out of Alfred States 16 shots on goal. Delia, along with Wes Lawerence and Maxson put the icing on the cake by scoring the final four goals for a 14-4 win for Cazenovia.
The Wildcats will look to continue their winning ways on Saturday April 5th when they host NEAC opponent Medaille College at 1 PM
